The LRA, or the Lord’s Resistance Army, has been ravaging Northern Uganda for decades. By stealing children and forcing them through rape, brutality, mandatory murder and brainwashing, the LRA builds it’s fighting ranks and harems of “wives.” Canaan Farm is a place of healing and restoration for those victims of the LRA violence. For the young boys and girls lucky enough to escape, for the widows of men murdered by the rebels, and for the orphaned babies, Canaan Farm gives people the chance to start over, begin life anew in a beautiful setting with good soil to till and plant crops. The Farm is a community-based Christian outreach directed by a Ugandan national. The short film Canaan Farm shows the brutal nature of the LRA violence, and the healing and beauty of new life at Canaan Farm. |
