Surface is a meditation on the impulse to look out across the ocean and to fashion what we see into something personal and meaningful - the alchemy of the imagination. This short documentary is a gentle portrait of a village on the southern coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland as visitors, residents and a conservation team engage with the sea and its famous inhabitants, the Bottlenose dolphins. But do the animals below the surface bear any resemblance to what we imagine we see above it? |
