He was the great rival and competitor of renowned studios Pathe and Gaumont. He created Paris’s two mythical theaters, the Rex and the Olympia, and was one of the talking film pioneers. He’s also the one who revolutionized the Arabic cinema by spreading the Egyptian films through out North Africa. Yet today, few know who Jacques Haik was, and his name has almost disappeared from cinema history.
