‘Forza di L’Esse’ depicts the tragic love story between Ornella and Hyacinthe, two of the leaders in the rebellion during the french occupation of Corsica in the 18Th century. 1785, Ornella, the mayor’s daughter, and her childhood friend Hyacinthe, a young shepherd boy, are in love despite her father’s wishes for her to marry into a higher status. The Lieutenant Arnaud De La Lieusade is assigned to restore order in Corsica, accompanied with his sister Hortense. He falls for Ornella. Hortense and her suitor, Giordano, an ambitious tax collector, decide to stop at nothing to satisfy Arnaud’s desire for Ornella. Will the games of aristocracy and political intrigue defeat Ornella and Hyacinthe’s love? Or will they find the strengh together to fulfill their destiny?
